Changing the World One Child At A Time

The Caribbean Centers for Boys & Girls of the Virgin Islands, founded in 1973, is a non-profit, privately-funded 501{c}{3} organization and depends on private donations and volunteers to accomplish its mission, serving almost 200 youth a day.

The Caribbean Centers for Boys and Girls of the Virgin Islands is a home away from home for the kids of these communities. The centers offer a safe place to learn and grow. Alongside a place to form and build relationships with caring adult professionals. The facility not only offers homework help but programs for development; the kids are able to have a safe space to learn and grow into the people they want to be rather than the people their situation causes them to be. The programs offer different learning experience which expand from the traditional school environment. Making sure to link educations with passion, supporting the brilliant minds of the members of the clubs. All through following the pillars of the centers: academic, career exploration, health and wellness, culture and family.

Our mission is to provide a caring learning environment dedicated to enriching the educational, social-emotional and cultural opportunities of the youth and families we serve.

We see our centers as modern, clean, vibrant spaces full of high quality, hands on activities. Our centers will be the space young people of the Virgin Islands will be able to envision a better future than their current reality demonstrates. We will base our programming off of our pillars and data we accumulate to best accommodate the needs of our members. Our goal is to be a staple of the community and a household name in the Virgin Islands, when anyone sees CCBGVI they know exactly who we are and what we do.

Don Walker saw the need for a youth development program and brought The Boys Club to St. Croix. Within the next year, the club was gifted a building in Fredriksted then, a few years later the club expanded to a second building in Christiansted.

The Boys Club became the Boys and Girls Club of America evolving with the times. Girls were officially welcomed into the clubs as members.

Continuing to evolve to meet the needs of the community in the Virgin Islands, in 2017 we separated from the national organization to become the Caribbean Centers for Boys and Girls of the Virgin Islands. Now we are able to guide the organization with the specific needs of the Virgin Islands.
We continue to be the largest and oldest youth organization in the US Virgin Islands, emphasizing direct impact for youth and families. Our approach to youth development entails experience-based learning, strong youth-adult relationships and a 21st-century approach to programming. Our goal is to bring youth development to the whole Caribbean.
